Our advice to Peter Molyneux and the team over at Lionhead Studios is to take the day off and pop open some champagne corks, because
Fable II‘s first two weeks of sales are something to celebrate.
Microsoft just revealed that 1.5 million copies of Fable II were sold worldwide during its first two weeks at retailers, with nearly 800,000 copies being sold in the U.S. Quite impressive sales figures that we’re sure both Lionhead and Microsoft Game Studios are proud of. Now, all we have to wait for is the December release of the Knothole Island DLC to see how well Fable II’s DLC sells.

After a week long
delay, Lionhead Studios and Microsoft just pulled the curtain back on their BIG
Fable 2 announcement and, as we expected, it’s new downloadable content!
Releasing mid-December, the 800 Microsoft point Fable 2 “Knothole Island” DLC will be a new island to explore, where it’s your hero’s goal to bring sunshine back to an island that has suddenly been blanketed in snow. Snow that has left everyone either dead or really chilly. The DLC will also come with new items including Knight’s Boots, Assassins Gloves, Weight Loss Potion and a collectible silver book. In total, there will three new quests, six new weapons, dozens of potions, and 50+ new leaderboards.
Finally, for those who aren’t interested in the Knothole Island DLC yet want to play co-op with those who have made the purchase, Lionhead will be releasing free DLC that’ll allow access to the island through co-op.

Last week, Lionhead revealed that a BIG Fable II announcement would be coming this week. Well, their plans didn’t work out as expected and the BIG announcement has been delayed until next Monday, November 24th. Reason being that Microsoft decided this week wouldn’t be the best time to announce BIG Fable II news, probably due to the whole New Xbox Experience release n’ such.
There you have it, kids, a BIG Fable II announcement will be headed our way next Monday. We plomise!

If you haven’t recently checked your inbox and registered for the
Fable 2 Collector’s Edition DLC offer, then we advise doing an inbox check this very moment. Reason being, Microsoft just emailed the DLC redemption codes to those who already registered.
If you recall, Microsoft forgot to place the CE exclusive DLC redemption code cards in some copies of the Fable 2 CE, which caused lots of commotion and angry customers. So, team Microsoft setup a website to allow those CE purchasers who didn’t get their redemption code a chance to receive the content via registration on the website. And to those who gamed the system, registered for the DLC and never owned the CE, we think the email’s opening sentence says it all. “Accept the consequences of your actions” … mmkay?
[Thanks, to the hundreds of fanboys who sent this in]
